Ol' Yeller trotted along to the jingle of the harnesses. Behind him was Dan and Ann, and as wheeler were Zasha and Buck. His sled team worked well together, he thought. "Gee,Gee" commanded Champion sharply. Champ led the team well, and made sure the dogs were fair with each other. The snow lay around them, as well as spruce and aspen. They were taking a load of gold from a mine that lay a couple miles back. Suddenly, Ol'Yeller heard the sound of danger standing on the snowy slope a few yards away. He stopped and so did the team. " Dang it" muttered Champ. She grabbed her longbow and quiver, fitting an arrow to the string as she headed towards Yeller. Would she have time to unharness the dogs before the wolves were upon them?
